Macerated Strawberry Syrup
What you’ll need:
From your Glassware kit (or cupboard):
Your Macerated Strawberry Syrup Aging Jar (or a 16 oz container with a tight lid)
From your kitchen:
A small knife
A large knife
A cutting board
Measuring cups (1 cup, 0.5 cup, 0.25 cup)
A spoon
From the grocery store:
White sugar – 0.75 cups
Fresh, ripe strawberries – 0.3-0.5 lb (1 cup when cleaned and diced)
Recipe
1 cup fresh strawberries, cleaned and diced
0.75 cups white sugar
Remove the strawberry tops with your small knife, then use the large knife to dice the strawberries.
Combine the strawberries and half the sugar in a jar.
Muddle with a spoon until the ingredients combine into a thick, chunky paste.
Add the remaining sugar on top of the mixture.
Seal the jar and refrigerate for 3 days.
Strain off the solids and set aside to enjoy separately. Pour the syrup into a new container, discarding any remaining solid sugar at the bottom of the steeping jar.
